About us
On 16 July 2002 the National Lottery was changed from a semi-public institution to a limited company governed by public law. This means that the National Lottery has more scope to develop its activities like any other professional enterprise. Naturally, this new status brings with it a number of changes: additional employees are required, an even better service is being provided for players, winners and sales outlets. The new status gives the National Lottery the opportunity to become more dynamic, react more quickly to market demands and forge closer links with other companies.
The daily running of the National Lottery is carried out by the Management Committee, under the guidance of the Managing Director, Ivan Pittevils. A Board of Directors, headed by Jean-Marc LIETART, supervises the Management Committee.
The Minister performs its supervisory role via a Government Commissioner, appointed by HRH the King on the recommendation of the aforementioned Minister. This Commissioner attends the meetings of the Board of Directors.
The structure of the National Lottery - there are five departments :
- Marketing;
- Sales;
- Operations & ICT;
- Strategy & Business Development;
- Finance
Each department is headed by a director who reports to the Managing Director. Furthermore, the commercial role played by the 8 Regional Offices is critical.
